Microorganisms- They’re Really There!

I wanted to pass on to you this video excerpt from Dr. David Kennedy, a long time champion of preventive dentistry. It is “living” proof of the importance of using home care remedies such as the Secret and also illustrates the dramatic benefit received from a Hygiene visit. However uncomfortable, the video is well worth watching and even entertaining!

Prevention is the name of the game in Natural Dentistry, as is the importance of the idea that every individual is the primary agent of change for their own health! As a partner, to back you up in the health process, it is important for us to seek out the safest, least toxic ways to maintain the functionality of the jaw and teeth and to prevent the proliferation of microorganisms that damage gums, tooth structure and spread throughout the body.

Dr. Kennedy, as a preventive dentist, spent his entire career forwarding the basic ideas that are part and parcel of holistic or natural dentistry today.

  • Author of, “How to Save Your Teeth,” a home care solutions that pointed out the dangers of fluoride and mercury in amalgam fillings.
  • Past President of IAOMT, the International Academy of Oral Medicine and Toxicology, a group of dentists, physicians, and researchers, that originally coalesced around the idea of the of Mercury toxicity, that today provides the scientific research to promote new levels of safety in healthcare.
  • Produced a documentary, Fluoridegate- An American Tragedy revealing how government agencies, trade associations and the chemical industry have protected and promoted a “one dose fits all” approach to mass “medication” when in fact the tolerance to Fluoride varies greatly from person to person, with the youngest at greatest risk.

To find out the microorganism load lurking in your gum pockets and tooth crevices make an appointment with our hygiene department. We have the microscope and hygienist ready and waiting. Aside from a clean mouth, this experience of seeing what is going on in your mouth can reinforce the idea – there is something you can do about your own health!

Dr. Beata A. Carlson

A graduate from the University of Maryland, Dr. Beata A. Carlson, is an established professional in dentistry. She is a firm believer in taking on a holistic approach to treating her patients’ dental concerns. It entails a general awareness of the body. It caters to the overall well-being of the patient using natural, biocompatible, and mercury-free dentistry methods instead of ‘spot treatment,’ where solutions are obtained to fix the temporary/surface wound instead of the underlying issue.

This approach promotes healthy living and proper oral care practice for day to day life. Dr. Beata A. Carlson insists on educating her patients on how to engage in such methods to help them achieve a better quality of life.

She invests both time and resources in the latest and most advanced technology to aid in diagnostics and treatment plans for her patients while maintaining a comfortable and relaxing environment.

Dr. Beata A. Carlson is also a member of the International Academy of Oral Medicine and Toxicology, The American Academy of General Dentistry and The American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry.
